Jim
Murphy

It all came into focus for Jim on the evening
of April 15, 1995. He was on stage at the Ryman Auditorium in
Nashville singing his own composition "The Mother Church of Country
Music," to the Mother Church herself.
A kinship with the country music establishment began to blossom in 1963
when he started broadcasting his radio program Country Concert.
Along with radio, Jim Murphy & The Pine Barons developed a solid reputation
for performing authentic traditional Country Music in the Bluegrass style.
In 1995, Jim was invited to perform at the annual TMA Awards Show
at the Grand Ole Opry.
Many things have happened for Jim since that magical night in 1995. In
1998 Jim won four awards at the TMA Awards Show for his CD New Billy
Music. The CD was acknowledged for "Album of the Year,"
and "Song of the Year." as well as Jim personally receiving
"Songwriter of the Year," and Male Vocalist of the Year."
WOW!!!
His strong attachment to the music of Hank Williams has led to many great
things such as; Board of Directors of the Hank Williams Society. His biographical
CD- "Hank Williams, A 50th Anniversary Tribute," has been accepted
into the Country Music Hall of Fame. It has been said by representatives
from the Albert Music Hall in NJ, where Jim & The Pine Barons perform
