Jayson
Born July 21, 1982, Jayson was raised in the small town of Cedar Grove, NJ, with his sister and two brothers. Growing up, Jayson was constantly around music because his Father was a drummer, and a huge fan of rock 'n' roll, and his mother played piano and acoustic guitar. Jayson and his two brothers started taking piano lessons at a young age and began to enjoy music just as much as their parents. In 1995, Jayson's older brother, Ken, received a Fender Stratocaster for Christmas. He gradually lost interest in learning the guitar and let Jayson use it to get lessons. Jayson immediately fell in love with the guitar and would practice with every free second he had. He obtained knowledge of theory, scales, rock, and blues from individual lessons and books. He also learned to play a variety of cover songs from Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He started writing lyrics in 2000 to capture life's experiences, thoughts and feelings. A good friend of his, Steve Oyola, had a music studio and began recording with Jayson. At first it was just a hobby for the two of them, but when the music received a great deal of encouragement from family and friends, Jayson decided to build a studio in his basement. With the help of his friends; Steve, Charles, Jill, and others, Jayson recorded a full length CD in 2004 titled, "Falling Up." Jayson is hoping to break in to the music industry with his heart felt lyrics, and creative fusion of hip-hop and rock.
